'A Hazy Summers Day' Impressionist Landscape with trees.
This quiet, misty landscape is imbued with tranquility and calm. The beautifully balanced natural tones used by the artist give us a sense of harmony with nature, and a fond familiarity with the landscape being painted. An infectiously soothing piece. Lovely use of a soft pastal pallette.
Labelled on the reverse [translation]; 'D. Soler Gili was a landscape and scenic painter who studied in Sabadell with Vila Cinca (Spanish painter) and in the Escuela de Bellas Artes with Antonio Caba. His favourite subjects were the Pyrenean landscapes, sifted by a calm and serene vision. His style is simple and balanced, both in composition and in colour, having masterfully interpreted the hours of peaceful calm and serenity of nature at rest. He also dedicated himself to artistic pedagogy.'
