The label on the reverse stretcher indicates that the painting may have been exhibited at the Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles 1910.
The exhibition was dedicated to science, the arts, industry, and trade. The Fine Art section included modern art loaned by the French including three works each by Claude Monet, Auguste Rodin, and August Renoir, as well as two works by Henri Matisse. Painters who participated included the Belgian Alois Boudry who won a silver medal and the French Adrien Karbowsky.
Magi Oliver Bosch was a landscape painter born in Sant Sadurní D'anoia in 1877. After training artistically at the Círculo Artístico de Barcelona, he exhibited for the first time in 1905 at the exhibition of fine arts. Oliver Bosch also attended collective exhibitions and competitions, being awarded at the international exhibition of Brussels in 1910, and also in 1911 at the exhibition of fine arts of Barcelona. His paintings are now held at in the Museums of modern art in Barcelona, as well as the Museum of Tarragona and in the city museum of Martorell.
