These dispersed shapes create a densely patterned composition, with fine cracking contrasting against larger curled and projecting sections.

The second features broader areas of terracotta, orange and ochre over a ground of pink, yellow, grey and dark blue. Sweeping marks remain visible between the raised surface layers, producing a more open composition.

Both works explore the relationship between colour, texture and relief. Presented without external frames, their projecting surfaces give them a sculptural character.

Artist
Unidentified.

Artist details
No legible signature or identifying inscription is visible in the supplied photographs.
