This antique iron fire plaque has a simple and austere design depicting the well known fable of 'The Fox and the Stork' by 17th century French author, Jean de la Fontaine. This classic moral tale traditionally teaches about the importance of treating others as one wishes to be treated, and has been illustrated in Europe since the Middle Ages.
The border is elegantly decorated with an organic, geometric pattern, bringing a wonderful decorative refinement to this humble representation.
