A large vintage Turkish kilim, identified as Şarkışla, featuring eighteen hexagonal medallions arranged in three columns across a rich red ground. Alternating shades of pale blue, grey, mustard yellow and olive are outlined with hooked geometric borders, with orange and ivory accents throughout.
Smaller diamonds, angular forms and scattered geometric motifs fill the spaces between the medallions. Multiple patterned borders frame the composition, combining a mustard inner band with a blue outer border of repeating multicoloured motifs. The flatwoven surface displays visible variations in colour and texture.Measuring 377 × 256 cm, its substantial scale and strong geometric arrangement make this a distinctive decorative textile for a large interior.
Condition
