Description
This finely hand-knotted vintage Tabriz rug originates from one of north-west Persia's most celebrated weaving centres and exemplifies the refined craftsmanship for which the region is renowned. A richly coloured rose-red field is decorated with an elegant all-over arrangement of scrolling floral vines, palmettes and delicately woven birds, framed by a finely detailed midnight navy floral border. The harmonious colour palette, crisp drawing and balanced composition reflect the classical Persian designs long associated with Tabriz workshops. Woven from wool on a cotton foundation and bearing a woven signature cartouche, this rug combines exceptional craftsmanship with enduring decorative appeal. Construction

Condition
Very good vintage condition with light, even age-related wear consistent with careful use. The pile remains well preserved with vibrant colours and crisp detail throughout. The fringes display expected age-related wear and minor losses, while the rug retains an attractive natural patina.
