Description
This vintage hand-knotted Kashan rug originates from the historic weaving city of Kashan in central Persia and displays one of the region's most recognisable classical designs. A richly detailed ivory cartouche medallion is set within a deep terracotta-red field, surrounded by intricate floral arabesques and framed by multiple navy, ivory and golden borders.  Woven from wool on a cotton foundation, this elegant carpet offers both decorative impact and enduring craftsmanship, making it an excellent choice for traditional, transitional and contemporary interiors.

Region & Attribution
Kashan, Central Persia. Based on the visible design elements, border arrangement, medallion, floral ornamentation and construction visible in the photographs, this rug is best attributed to the Kashan weaving region. 

Condition
Very good vintage condition with age-related, even wear consistent with careful use. The pile remains well preserved with attractive natural patina, and the fringe shows expected age-related wear.
