Allegory Of Grandeur - 19th Century Follower of Corrado Giaquinto (1703-1766)
This magnificent work is a version of the original which hangs in one of the residences of the Spanish Royal Family, La Casita del Príncipe in San Lorenzo del El Escorial. An allegorical work titled 'Allegory of Grandeur', the original 18th century piece is by Italian Rococo painter Corrado Giaquinto (1703-1766). The piece depicts a lady dressed in Roman attire seated on a cloud, surrounded by cherubs - the olive branch in her hand suggests that she represents peace.
