Signed Cubist Etching by Eric Finlay
This fantastic cubist etching is evocative of an industrial scene, with factory chimneys at the top of the composition and suggestions of buildings in the foreground. A highly abstracted image, this piece strongly recalls the work of Georges Braque. The use of cross-hatching and varying techniques alongside the geometric lines gives the work a wonderful texture and depth.
Eric Finlay (1930-1996) was a British Postwar & Contemporary artist, whose works are exhibited globally. His work was strongly influenced by the Cubist masters of the era - particularly Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso.
