Joaquin Mir Trinxet - Fishing Village - Etching, 1929
Joaquin Mir Trinxet was a well-known Spanish artist who helped define the Catalan modernist movement. In this charming image, we see how his brilliant drawing and gentle style perfectly capture a sense of the Spanish landscape. Mir Trinxet was a friend of the prominent French artist Maurice Utrillo and his works are in several major Spanish museums.
Trinxet defined his work as follows, "all I want is for my works to lighten the heart and flood the eyes and soul with light."
