Still Life with Hydrangeas. Oil on Canvas. Signed.
This gorgeous still life shows a bright and ample bunch of pink and white hydrangeas - not arranged in a pristine bouquet, but rather messily put in a vase, which appears to have been left for a while as some of the flowers have wilted and dropped to the table. These slight imperfections make this a wonderfully unique painting, which highlights the beauty in age and decay. The lack of an ordered arrangement suggests these flowers may have been picked from the wild and put straight in a vase, reminding us to appreciate the small pleasures in the everyday. A stunningly executed painting with an irresistible palette.
