Hand-Knotted Vintage Persian Heriz Rug
Hand-Knotted Vintage Persian Heriz Rug
Description:
A finely hand-knotted Persian rug from the Heriz region of northwest Iran, distinguished by its bold geometric medallion design and vibrant coloration. The composition features a large central eight-pointed star medallion framed by stepped ivory spandrels and surrounded by an intricate floral and vine field. The border comprises multiple guard bands enclosing a navy main border with stylized rosettes and diamond motifs.
The color palette is dominated by madder red, deep indigo, and ivory, complemented by accents of light blue, orange, and green. The wool displays a natural sheen, and the pile is medium height, consistent with durable weaving from this region.
