Josep Mundet I Tarrés was a sculptor from Torroella. During his early career, he taught at the Barcelona School of Arts La Llotja, as well as holding a variety of individual and group exhibitions and commissions. In 1973, Mundet made the monument in memory of Monsignor Viver on the Passeig de l'Esglesia in Torroella, and in 1975 the monument of the Sardana in Fora Portal. Joan Palet Batiste was an extraordinary painter and draftsman, born in Barcelona into a family of sculptors and woodcarvers. Also attending La Llotja, Palet was taught by the likes of Ramon Calsina, Félix Mestres and Antoni Vila Arrufat.
