Ramón Mestre Vidal was a Spanish Naturalist painter who typically created scenes of rural life. Naturalism focused on paintings made in the open air ('en plein air') creating realist images of everyday country life. Some major artists associated with this movement were John Constable, Gustave Courbet and Jean-Francois Millet. It was highly influential on Impressionism.
