In this captivating portrait of a man, the sitter gazes out past the viewer in a contemplative manner. The artist has beautifully captured an array of textures in this painting, from the rough, fading background to the expertly painted drapery, framing the face of the subject. The rich, vibrant colours are what really draws our attention to this piece - with tones of gold, red and blue glowing across the composition.
